Small towns are synonymous with historic downtown squares, tree-lined streets…
Discover the heart of American art and history at the Booth Museum in Cartersville, GA! Immerse yourself in captivating exhibits featuring contemporary Western art, a Presidential Gallery, Civil War art, and an interactive children's gallery. Recognized as the USA Today 10Best Peoples' Choice Award winner for best art museum for the last 3 years!
Open since 2003, the Booth Western Art Museum has become an important national attraction in Cartersville. It is the world’s largest permanent exhibition space for Western art, and the largest museum of its kind in the Southeast.
As the buzz surrounding the Booth continues to grow, so does the Museum’s accolades, including being named a Smithsonian Affiliate, best art museum by USA Today Readers’ Choice award program in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Also named the 2016 Escape to the Southeast Attraction of the Year, voted “Best Western Museum” in 2021 & 2022 by readers of True West Magazine, listed among “The South’s Best Museums” by Southern Living and the list continues.
The Booth’s permanent collection of Western art, Presidential portraits and letters, and Civil War art allows visitors to “See America’s Story” – the land, people, struggles, dreams, and legends – in paintings, sculpture, photography and artifacts. Sagebrush Ranch is an award-winning, hands-on experience and interactive children’s gallery. Temporary exhibits are changed every three to four months in four galleries, resulting in 12 to 15 exhibitions per year, the most in any Georgia art museum. Within our 120,000 square feet of space the Booth is a great size to see in a day, but more than enough to make additional trips a rewarding surprise.
Guests can also enjoy freshly made sandwiches, salads, burgers, and desserts plus light snacks and a variety of drinks in the Blevins Bistro. Before you leave, be sure to visit to the Candance Alexander McNair Store for books on art and Western culture, as well as prints, novelty items and more.
Additional features include a 240-seat banquet room available for special events; a 140-seat theatre available for lectures, artist’s discussions, round-table panels and film screenings; and an orientation theatre. These spaces are available to rent for all event types, including wedding ceremonies and receptions, anniversaries, birthdays, holiday parties, corporate meetings, luncheons, and so much more!
